Carrie Hickman

Hey! I’m Carrie Hickman and by day I work in the crazy world of agents, music artists, producers and writers. However, when the sometimes 10 hour work day is over I have recently discovered a growing personal need for connection to my community and a desire to give back. I can’t honestly say I’ve ever been that particularly philanthropic in nature in the past unless you count the years of teaching vacation bible school, church camp, or leading freshman orientation in college. So I’m here to tell you that no one is behind, that giving back can start at anytime.
Last year following the dream of my best friend Kimberly I jumped on board to help her plan the first ever “I’m Still Beautiful” Concert Fashion show to benefit Young People with Cancer. Between her, Heather, and I none of us had any particular experience in planning an event of this scale but we came together and made it happen AND it was amazing! From here we were all three inspired to see just how far we could take this thing, thus leading us to create “Giving Back is the New Black”.
It is now my dream to truly jump head first into my Nashville community and get to know those who are working to make a difference. I also want to inspire those in my generation that everyone can give back whether they have the time to start their own charity, plan an event, or simply just drop canned food off at the local shelter. Everyone can play a part in changing our world.
