A few years ago I began to search for a way to make a difference in a world in which there are so many needs.  As young professionals, we have passion, talent, and resources, all of which can be used to generate support – financial or otherwise – for some very worthy causes.

This desire was put into motion in 2008 when, touched by the unique struggles of young adults with cancer (aged late teens through thirties), Heather, Carrie and I started planning the first annual I’m Still Beautiful concert and fashion show event.  From there we began GBitNB, hosting events for various causes close to our hearts as well as promoting other causes and events in the community.

Through Giving Back is the New Black, I hope to show other young adults that there are more ways to give back than monetarily. We all have something that touches our hearts. Find a cause that you feel connected to, and there are so many ways to get involved.

I have been in Nashville for over ten years, building a career from my passion for creativity in fields like fashion, entertainment, marketing, and event planning.  I recently became the Creative Marketing Coordinator and Director of Nashville Operations for The Purple Turtle, Inc., a global marketing and branding agency.

In my free time (haha!), I enjoy creative writing, reading, rock climbing, yoga, and traveling (favorite places: NYC and Vegas!)
