The Perfect 10 ART To Africa Fundraiser

NFL star Eddie George and State Representative Brenda Gilmore will host The Perfect 10 on May 19, 2011, as part of a fundraiser for the ART To Africa initiative. The event marks the 10th anniversary of the Amun Ra Theatre and will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Tennessee State Museum. Guests will have the opportunity to view the Egyptian Relics, Replicas & Revivals: Treasures from Tutankhamun exhibit at the museum and participate in a silent auction. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and entertainment will be provided. 

The ART To Africa Initiative will send Amun Ra students and staff to the Village of Champions Orphanage, located outside of Accra, Ghana, from July 12 to 26. There, they will participate in a cultural exchange with the youth while building a physical addition onto the facility. This permanent performance space will be christened with a joint performance by ART and the Village of Champions young people, featuring music, drama, dance and visual art.
