Pics from Ellie's Run for Africa

May 23, 2010

The Giving Back girls were so thrilled to help out at Ellie’s Run for Africa yesterday.  The morning was sunny and beautiful and the people were amazing!  Thanks to all who came out to run, play, and support these children in Africa.  Many children are able to receive an education because of this event.  Yesterday, over $46,000 was raised.  Congrats Ellie’s Run!

Here come the runners!

Where have you been in Africa, and where do you want to go?

Each runner ran for one child, and got to write a letter to that child.

Ellie's Run for Africa, This Saturday

May 17, 2010

Looking for a chance to get out and enjoy the first days of summer weather?  You can do that this Saturday and run Ellie’s Run for Africa, or just join in the carnival-like family festivities at Percy Warner Park.

What’s really cool about Ellie’s Run is that it was started by a young teen in Nashville six years ago.  We’ve raised $210,000 so far, giving it to schools like these to help them give kids an education.  Can you help us increase that?

We would love for you to join us at the race/fun day.  You can register at  www.elliesrun.org.  Come out for a great time with family and friends and help us change the lives of these children who may never know a greater opportunity than to obtain an education!

If you’d like to volunteer on race day, please email us at givingbackisthenewblack@gmail.com.  Volunteers are still needed!
